The data

Stated intent, not just search clicks

Search and listing data show where people look. This shows what movers say they want, where they're coming from, and what they'll trade off to get it.

Relocation preferences

Answers to 60 lifestyle questions (cost, climate, schools, safety, culture, housing) including what each person marks as a dealbreaker.

Origin → destination demand

Where people live now (3-digit ZIP area and metro) and the ten places that best match what they want.

Mover profile

Optional, coarse answers: age range, household type, move timeline, rent or own, and remote, hybrid or on-site work.

Purchase intent

Which matched cities people opened a full relocation report for: a stronger signal than the match alone.

Resident sentiment

Privacy by design

Useful in aggregate, anonymous by construction

The people behind this data were told how it would be used, in a published privacy policy, before they answered. We built the dataset so it can't be traced back to them.

  • Never names, emails, phone numbers, IP addresses or device IDs. Records are anonymous from the moment they are created.
  • Location is kept to a 3-digit ZIP area; dates to the day. No exact age, income, or time of day.
  • Released figures meet minimum group sizes, so no small group can be singled out.
  • Every license forbids re-identification and passes that duty to anyone the data is shared with.
  • Each record says which questions, data and app version produced it, so trends stay comparable.
